Massachusetts Chamber of Business & Industry Featured in Prominent Business Journal
East Longmeadow, MA (PRWEB) July 10, 2008 -- Debra Boronski, who long served as senior vice president of the Affiliated Chambers of Commerce of Greater Springfield, thought the state of Massachusetts needed more than just local chambers of commerce. Her efforts to form a statewide chamber were a success, leading to the creation of the Massachusetts Chamber of Business & Industry. This newly formed organization was the subject of a recent article in Business West, the business journal for Western Massachusetts.
"Our primary focus will be on state issues, those that affect every business in the Commonwealth we're going to inform, educate, and then advocate on behalf of businesses so we can affect positive change," said Boronski in the article. She believes the creation of the Massachusetts Chamber of Business & Industry was the next logical step for the state. She also believes it was the next logical step for her own professional development; she now serves as president of this organization.
The statewide chamber is still a work in progress, according to Boronski, and they are looking at how other chambers around the country work. One of the primary roles they will play is a support system for the municipal and regional chambers throughout the state. They plan to fulfill this role through a variety of products and services, Boronski said in the article, including:
* Employee training seminars on subjects including human resources, employment law, workplace safety and health care;
* Membership programs, such as discount programs for health, life, and dental insurance, as well as car rentals, shipping and Monster.com;
* Monthly updates through a MassCBI.com E-news service, offered free to members, that will provide monthly reviews of legislative and political news;
* VoteforMassachusetts.com, another online service that allows members to access the voting records of their state and national legislators, and also voice their opinions on issues.
