Web Host Industry Review Deepens Hosting Con Coverage
Toronto, Ontario (PRWEB) July 16, 2008 -- The Web Host Industry Review (www.thewhir.com), the hosting industry's publication of record, is excitedly preparing a broad range of efforts surrounding HostingCon 2008, the hosting industry's most anticipated and best-attended conference, which will take place July 28-30 at Chicago's Navy Pier.
In addition to providing its most comprehensive and in-depth coverage in the four-year history of the key event in the hosting industry calendar, theWHIR will once again be one of HostingCon's official media partners. For the second consecutive year, theWHIR will sponsor the exhibit hall's networking lounge, providing attendees with a comfortable environment for meeting and networking, equipped with refreshment and wireless Internet access.
"We see all our publications, collectively, as one of the most important voices in the hosting community," says WHIR publisher Stephen Mayhew. "So our presence as a publishing company at HostingCon, which is the major web hosting industry event, ought to reflect that. We've put a lot of energy into our involvement with HostingCon this year, and the relationship we have with that event and its attendees."
The whole of the WHIR news team will be on hand at the event to provide coverage via every facet of the website, including regular news posts and blog entries, features and interviews. WHIRtv will be on hand to film video content from the event as well.
"We see our role at the event as having two facets," says WHIR editor Liam Eagle. "On the one hand, we want to provide comprehensive, insightful coverage of the event to help provide most of its informational benefits to those of our readers that aren't able to attend. On the other hand, we want our presence at HostingCon, and our involvement in the event, to enhance the experience for attendees."
The WHR will also take advantage of HostingCon to distribute the July 2008 issue of WHIR magazine, which, in addition to major features focused on data center security and software as a service, includes a great deal of information intended to help readers connect with HostingCon sessions and exhibits. Throughout the magazine, people and companies mentioned are flagged with notes on where they will be speaking and exhibiting at HostingCon.
Along with the news team, representatives from the advertising sales and business development departments at the Web Host Industry Review will be on hand to meet with attendees and discuss opportunities for partnering and advertising with the publication.
As part of the networking lounge sponsorship, theWHIR will be providing visitors with a chance to enter a draw to win a 50" high definition plasma TV for US attendees, and an iPod touch for international attendees.
